This term in Year 2 has been an exciting journey filled with learning, creativity, and discovery. Our young learners have had the opportunity to engage in a variety of enriching activities, which have not only been educational but also incredibly fun. 

One of the highlights was our assembly on road safety, where we learnt important lessons about staying safe when crossing roads. The children were particularly interested in the importance of wearing fluorescent clothes when out in the dark to ensure they are visible to drivers. This crucial knowledge will help keep them safe, especially during the darker winter months. 

Our art lessons this term have been a burst of creativity. Under our 'collage' art topic, the students explored various art skills to create beautiful Christmas cards. Inspired by the early snowfall in November, they crafted delightful snowmen collages that showcased their artistic talents and brought a touch of winter wonder to our classroom.  

In science, we delved into an intriguing topic about the differences between things that are living, dead, and have never been alive. We went on a treasure hunt around our school grounds. The children eagerly searched for items that fell into these categories, making fascinating discoveries and developing a deeper understanding of the natural world around them. This hands-on activity encouraged them to think critically and observe their environment closely. 

Overall, this term has been a wonderful blend of safety education, artistic expression, and scientific exploration. Our Year 2 students have learnt valuable lessons that will stay with them for years to come. We look forward to continuing this journey of discovery and learning in the next term!
